Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification Exam 2021

Calling all Project Management Professional (PMP) instructors! 30 Bird is gearing up now for PMI’s upcoming revision of the PMP certification exam!

To train candidates for official PMP certification, you need to be aware of some significant changes to the exam. The new exam will launch January 1, 2021. The good news is that we are currently constructing a comprehensive PMP course that’s specifically designed to address these revisions, enabling you to maximize your students’ chances of passing the exam the first time.

Past exam feedback

Studies show that most people who’ve taken the PMP exam feel that the project management theory they learned in existing courses didn’t prepare them adequately. Even in its current version, the PMP exam tends toward questions that deal with practical, real-world processes and issues. All the theoretical knowledge in the world won’t prepare candidates for THAT!

The revised exam for 2021

About half the questions on the revised exam cover areas of predictive project management approaches; the other half cover agile or hybrid approaches. It’s important to remember that all these approaches are applicable to all three domains and their respective percentages of emphasis:

  • People – 42%
  • Process – 50%
  • Business environment – 8%

30 Bird to the rescue!

We’re designing our PMP certification course in lock step with PMI’s goal of reworking the exam to better represent the functions, processes, and issues experienced by today’s project management professionals.

Our unique approach

Beyond the basics, what makes our course truly unique is the use of real-world scenarios drawn from shared experiences within actual corporations. These scenarios were provided by a PM with decades of experience managing projects of varying duration, complexity, and focus.

Just as importantly, our primary emphasis is on the iterative nature of each project throughout its timeline, as well as understanding how to overcome challenges as they arise—regardless of when they arise.

At the end of each topic section, we’ll provide sample questions to help your students get comfortable with the language and content they’ll encounter on the actual exam. So stay tuned!

As always, you can get more information on this and other certification courses at or by contacting our Customer Service department.
